Privacy at SyncAni

Audio and video travel between participants for the length of a room. They are never recorded, never stored, and never used for advertising. A room stops existing once the last person leaves.

A room code, your display name, your chosen avatar, and the technical details a browser needs to connect. Signing in stores your account and profile so the same name and avatar come back next time. The language you chose travels with each request in a cookie named “locale”, which holds that language code and nothing else, so the page arrives already written in it; give the choice back to your browser and the cookie goes with it. This is necessary for the app to work and cannot be switched off while you use it.

With your consent, we record anonymous product events — a room created, a room joined, connection quality — to see what breaks and what is used. No conversation content is involved.

With your marketing consent, SyncAni reports to Google Ads when a visitor who arrived from one of our ads creates or joins a room, so we can tell which ads are worth paying for.

When you are signed in, that report includes your email address, which is shared with Google for ad measurement. It is hashed by Google’s tag before it leaves your browser, it is used only to match your visit to an ad click, and no other personal detail is attached. Guests send no address at all.

Decline marketing consent and none of this is sent. In regions that require a choice, nothing is sent until you make one.

Use Cookie settings on the start screen at any time. Turning marketing off stops the ad reporting from that moment on.
